Mindy Rodgers has been employed before but the jobs she had didn’t challenge her like the one she has now at Domino’s Pizza. “I’ve wanted a job like this for a while,” says Mindy. “I’m learning how to stay organized and hope to eventually learn to make pizzas.” She is working 4 days a week for 4 hours a day.
For now, Mindy assists with food prep by keeping sauce and condiments ready for use. She makes sure boxes are made up, washes dishes, and takes care of clean ups in the kitchen. During my visit, she systematically went about her duties without any supervision.
Her shift manager, Jacob, said of Mindy, “She catches on very quickly and is really capable. She’s very confident about her ability to learn a new task and that makes it really easy to train her.” “She’s added greatly to our team and is well liked by the other staff. We’re really glad to have Mindy here.”
It’s very obvious that Mindy is glad to be there as well. Her pride in the work she is doing and the sense of accomplishment that it brings is evident to anyone who observes. We are proud that she’s been able to advance her employment goals.
