In fact, Alisha was volunteering for so many additional hours that she needed reminding that she could say no. One of the perks of her extra earnings and a new skill she has developed is the ability to treat herself to home-delivered meals with a local service. She has learned how to apply some of her funds to a pre-paid debit card that she uses for food or clothes that won’t affect her household budget. She translates her additional effort at work with securing something she wants without sacrificing her monthly budget.
Her manager, William, says “Alisha is a good worker. She tries hard and is always on time. Alisha is willing to stay longer if asked and will also come to work on her day off.” The trust they have placed in Alisha by offering more hours and responsibilities is significant to her.
Alisha said the extra hours and responsibilities mean to her that “She has gained experience there and they trust her to do a good job.” Success on-the-job reflects in her overall confidence and satisfaction in life.
We are glad to see Alisha enjoy the benefits of her efforts.
