“Zacch’s responsibilities include one of the most important aspects of our operation,” says his supervisor, Canetra Senter. “Zacch is in charge of having the chicken tenders and wings ready for the cooks in the morning. We depend on him to get our day started.”
In addition, Zacch washes dishes, keeps dining tables ready for customers and makes sure the prep area is kept sanitary. Canetra says Zacch has exceeded her expectations in all areas. “He can fill in for other positions if I’m missing someone from my crew. Zacch has shown he can do most jobs and is eager to learn. He’s a real asset to my team and recently earned a raise for his efforts.”
Zacch likes being successful and enjoys having extra money from his job to buy electronics and clothes. “I like being able to support myself,” said Zacch. When asked what she felt prospective employers should know about hiring persons with intellectual differences, Canetra said, “Give them a chance. You’ll be pleased you did.”
